Another vote for Cocoview. My daughter did her check-out dives there in 2012 (when she was 15; now she's 18) and we've been back twice since. Patti Grier who runs the dive shop/instruction is fantastic. CCV also gives you a chance to try all types of diving right there at the resort = shore, wall, wreck, night......and with its boat schedule and 24/7 shore diving, new divers get the maximum amount of practice in a place with high quality, low stress diving. I attribute my daughter's confidence and growing skills to the great weeks we've had at CCV as her learning foundation....which is precisely why I took her there.
.
If you're looking for night life....look elsewhere. If you want a "dive camp for adults" experience where your girl-friend's newbieness will be welcomed and where she will progress rapidly during a week....CCV is a great choice.
