Please forgive the cross-posting, but I thought you guys, as locals, might be interested in this...

Saturday, March 31st, Dryden Gallery in Providence, RI will open it's new photography exhibit "New Englanders Underwater." This show is the largest showing of underwater photography in New England (and perhaps even the East Coast!). Over 300 photos from New England divers are featured - from professionals to serious amateurs including both cold and warm water subjects.

The Opening Gala is this Saturday, March 31st from 6-9pm. The exhibit runs from March 31st through May 19th...

I'll be there Saturday night, exhibiting 9 of my underwater photos...hope some of you can make it! :D

Culcha. We're really lackin' culcha around heah. I bet it'll be pissah.

PTN

(Actually, it sounds like fun. Hope I can make it down there. God knows I can use some more culcha.)

I'm planning on going. Ed King, from Aquatic Escapes is showing exhibiting his photography. He's my intructor for my Adv. Deco/Nitrox class. Given I haven't passed the class yet and have my adv C-card from him, it would be a good move politically to see his pics. Thanks for posting this. It would be a good way for other NELD's to meet ea. other.

there will be free beer/wine and free food. Proceeds from sales help out charities as well.

The gallery is on the third floor of Providence Picture Frame in Providence, Rhode Island. Address is 27 Dryden Lane.

The Rhode Island thing to say would be:

"I am tempted to go, but that's all the way up in Providence and I live way down in South County!" :D

But actually, I still may go check that out.... even if it is way up there.....

Hey this looks good Betsy. We won't make it Saturday, as I am not in town. However, I will be up that way soon. Think I will get JohnnySeko to take me by :)

This does sound good. Something to check out midweek in April?;)

Opening night went wonderfully - we had about 250-300 people - I even sold a photo! :D Very cool!

There are about 24 or so photographers and I have to say that the quality and range of subjects is really amazing. It runs through May 19th, so you've got plenty of time to check it out... Enjoy!

Oh - and anyone know what the water temps are these day? I'm itchin' to dive... ;-)

39 degrees as of today here in RI.

Congrats on selling the picture! I wish I could have gotten up there last night (couldn't find the toothbrush for the long trip :D)! Would have been way more fun to see the exhibits when I could meet the photographers too, but I will still definitely get up to see the exhibits before it goes away.
