If you could indulge me for a few moments, I'd like to pick your brain about your product.Stinky once bubbled...
The odor in dive gear comes from naturally occuring bacteriac that feed on nutrients (from water, urine, etc) that has been drawn into neoprene, polartec, etc during the dive.
These bugs produce a lot of nast byproducts, including odors and acids (which break down adhesives, etc).
Many chemical products work well on removing surface odors, but can't get to the breeding areas inside the neoprene. This is especially true with booties. Sink the Stink contains live microbes that form a biofilm and out compete the "stinker" bugs for their food source, but do not in turn produce any noxious by products.
Many detergents, including some versions of Simple Green are not environmentally sound and should no be dumped in the soil or reef.
Note that I am the inventor of Sink the Stink and of course, have a commerial axe to grind. I do have over ten years experience in scuba and other marine odor control issues. I hope my participation is not taken as a violation of the board, but if it is, I will refrain from participating in any stinky issues.

Cya!
I dive at the Virginia Marine Science Museum and keeping nasties out of the aquariums is a high priority.
After I use your product, how long should I let gear sit before I rinse in in a mild vinegar solution to kill off the microbes? The aquarist won't buy them being harmless.
What pH do your critters like?
What temperature do your critters like?
What salinity do your critters like?
Is there something I should soak gear in before using your product? How long?
Enquiring minds want to know. Thanks.
