Maybe I'm a little late on this thread, but I do have an opinion. If you have been diving on decent coral reefs anywhere in the world, don't waste your time in Key Largo unless you dive the wrecks. The reefs are not at all impressive, they are shallow in height and I feel, very disappointing. I've been to the Keys four times and had much more interesting dives on the artificial reefs(wrecks) off the Miami/Lauderdale coast. The pace of life in the Keys is fantastic, but reef diving is relatively boring.

The Eagle, Brenwood, Duane and Bibb are all good dives off Key Largo and Tenneco Towers, United Caribean and Hog Heaven are also good dives off southeast coast near Lauderdale.

Peace,
Stephen

I'll second that Dedhed. I've been to the Keys many times and the reefs are no better there then they are up here in the Lauderdale area. With the exception of the Grove I think the wrecks are much better here as well.
