Hello all...

In the steps of the tip & techniques forum thread started by stone I decided to post here my idea of the creation of a forum dedicated to trip reports. There everyone will be able to post full trip reports with every kind of info, photographs, diving logs etc... With the current format of geographical distribution some trip reports are hidden in various forums and would-be writers are unmotivated to post ! On the other hand if there is only one forum for those reports everyone will read them easily, make comments on them or even rate them (as in Rodale's boards). In the future maybe the mods will give some prices for the best ones and the possibilities are endles...

...so if you agree, or disagree, vote on the poll and raise your comments in this thread...

I agree! That would make it very easy to find trip reports - maybe institute a standard naming convention - to always include the location in the title.

Until then, you could always post in the "travel" section using the following suggested title format:

• Trip Report -- Lake Travis, Texas

Just be sure to put the report in the appropriate subsection of Travel.

You know there are plenty of recources here already. Why not use them to their fullest.

Let say that a place for trip reports is started where should it be located?

I would have to agree with Walter -- no more forums...just post in the appropriate geographic portion of the travel section and lable "trip report"

I am not sure what site the person who edited the poll was talking about but if you go to :

ScubaSearch.com with results from "Trip Reports"

It brings up a huge list of sites.

This one I found seems to be quite good :
