Tragica immersione: sub muore nel lago di Como, grave un altro sommozzatore
Google translation...
Tragedy in the waters of Lake Como: a 47-year-old diver, Ettore Salvadè, from Como but living in Veleso, died this morning during a dive in Nesso. Serious another diver from Como who was with him, also 47 years old.
The two would dive for about sixty meters, in an area where the lake is over 300 meters deep. What has happened with precision will be the investigation ordered by the judiciary to establish it. The first investigations do not exclude that the victim may have accused a sudden illness and that the dive buddy climbed with him quickly in an attempt to rescue him, without respecting the decompression times to the letter.
The two resurfaced at 10.30 a few tens of meters from the shore and were first rescued by a passing dinghy, whose occupants called the 118. For the 47 year-old Veleso there was unfortunately nothing to do, while the comrade was transported by helicopter to the Niguarda hospital in Milan, and admitted to a hyperbaric chamber.
