Diver dies off Norfolk coast | Anglia - ITV News
A diver has died after being pulled from the sea off the coast of Norfolk this afternoon.
The Great Yarmouth lifeboat was called out at about 2pm to a diving boat 17 miles offshore.
A man had got into trouble while under water and was quickly brought to the surface by another diver.
Lifeboat crews said he was unconscious and not breathing and resuscitation attempts failed.
Neal Duffield, Great Yarmouth and Gorleston Lifeboat operations manager, said it was not yet known how the diver had got into trouble. He said: "Something happened on the way down. They hadn't been in long."
The rescue helicopter airlifted the man to the James Paget Hospital at Gorleston. The second diver was also taken to hospital but was due to be discharged this evening.
Police said the diving boat was on a recreational trip with seven people on board and had set off from Lowestoft this morning.
