I hate to tell you bud, but it was the Halcyon that was tarpping air.

Thats funny, i never knew halcyon had a bungeed wing.I have never had any problems dumping air from a halcyon wing.Thats the one thing i really like about halcyon wings as they dont seem to trap air as much as other brands.

Listen, you got it all screwed up...we are talking 2 DIFFERANT wings.

The HALCYON trapped air on me - its an unbungeed wing. Halycon does not make a bungeed wing, as you know.

Then, I went to the OMS bungee wing - does not trap air!

Geez im glad you clarified that.Im glad you are such a fan of bungeed wings as i am not.I see no reason for the bungees and have heard all the arguments. Now i am a fan of the oms non-bungeed wings or the halcyon wings.

By the way relax, this bungeed wing thing has you all uptight, you are way to easy dude.Later bud :D

Possibly the wrong wing for the situation?

I've had wings trap air on me before, but usually a result of having a larger wing than was actually necessary, so the air had more "free space" to move around, and was subsequently harder to vent.

This is a nice little write up on why the bungeed OMS wing is not the "best" wing to dive with: http://www.baue.org/faq/wing_size.html#bungied_wings

Eric

Thanks for the link! I ordered the OMS 100lbs bungied wing today after reading that article(the red one)!!! I like wings that dump fast, and since I usually dive with at least 3 regulators I don't need my wing as a "3rd regulator". Went to the local LDS and had no problem orally inflating it

This board rox!!!:)

I really hope this is meant to be ironic....

:D

Actually I'm serious, what that article calls "problems" I see as a plus. The bungied wing will solve alot of my diving problems.

I will keep my Zeagle Tech for diving singles.

Each to his or her own....

Peace

Did you see the article on wing sizing above the one you mentioned?

The difference is a drysuit zipper is a necessity, bungee cords on your wing arent.Maybe someone should experiment with bungee on their drysuit to help squeeze out all of the excess air and be more streamlined cause all the folds are held close to the body.Any takers?

The decision to use a bungeed wing or not is one's personal preference, what works best for the individual diver. My point was, don't blame the equipment when the individual was at fault. I just haven't experienced any of the "so called problems" that many have claimed regarding bungeed wings.
