Hi, I was looking to buy an OMS Regulator and I was wondering if anyone owns or has tried one of these regulators before. They look to be fairly good breathers and of good quality. Could you please post your coments about this type of requlator. Thank You

Sorry no experience with OMS regulators, but I wanted to welcome you to the board from the cold waters of New England USA. Have fun here and Dive Safe.………………Arduous

divers who might have some experience with these regs...I'll see if I can't get their attention and point out this thread to them...

btw, what is your experience level and planned use for these regs? I ask this incase the OMS turn out to not be for you and we can suggest some viable alternatives.

And welcome to Scuba Board!

Thanks for the replies and the welcome. I was just wondering about the OMS regulator because it is a resionably priced regulator (about 180.00US$) and it also looks like a fairly decient regulator. If I buy the OMS Regulator I was only going to keep it for a wile until I get a main regulator like a Poseidon Jetstream, then I would use the OMS Regulator as a backup. If I get an OMS Regulator and I like it I might just stick with it and save the money. The only reason I really asked about the OMS Regulator is that I have been looking everywhere for reviews about it but I haven't found any. Thx....

OMS makes oxygen-service clean regulators for use with decompression stage bottles. These regulators are designed to be of only moderate performance as they will typically be breathed at shallower depths and because higher performance regulators are more likely to freeflow - something you don't want to happen with your deco gas.

If you're on a budget, get an Aqualung Titan - it's a good reliable reg at a good price.

Hi

although i dont have any real dive exprience with the OMS i dont want to recommend it! A good option then would be to buy a reg oversea's. Like the Apeks DS4. Maintainance free! And this way it will save you alot of bucks.

Good luck.

I'm with john_a on this one. Fancy making a reg called DROS - do they know what that means in English rather than American?!

I have an O2 cleaned one for deco and really would not want to use it below 10m (30 feet) - don't know what the rest are like though.
