zmanzimp:
what are your opinions of OMS products, namely their bcs and harness systems? I am looking at the oms Iq harness and am wondering if anyone has had good/bad experiences with them. how is oms compared to dui/dive-rite/halcyon/etc.? thanks, zach

The quality of the product is good and allows for flexibility in gear set-ups.. Other companies have products that run along the same lines.. If a pack is what you are looking for call Chris at Abyss dive systems ( Abysmal ) and they carry what is called the rec2tec pack.. This pack allows you to adjust / add or delete "d" rings on the shoulder.. You can use a backplate from any manufacturer if you wish in this pack.. It is made for single or double wings.. But you will pay less from Abyss than the other manufacturers..

Just my 2cents but I've dived with the OMS, Dive-rite and Abyss.. All good gear but you need to what type of diving you are planning on doing before you purchase a pack.. This will allow you to find the best gear for your type of diving..

Some questions you need to ask are..
The type of diving you are doing today.. Will it be the same over the next 12 / 24 months..

Where are you diving .. southeast. northeast.. northwest??
The major type of diving you do.. cave. wreck. quarry.. warm or cold water
Do you do deco today or will you be in the future
Type of cylinders you dive today and will they remain the same.. Alum vs steel
Also single or double set-ups

These are some of the questions you need to answer to make sure you make one purchase instead of buying a set up every 6 months... Just remember the questions above just help figure out the correct product for you to dive in..

Good luck
