Having just purchased a wing, OMS bp & comfort harness II (my first), I'm looking for some tips on how to set it up.

I've strung it according to the instructions, but as its my first I don't know how far down my back the bp should sit. If its mid-back where the waist belt is in a comfortable position, the shoulder straps and D-rings seem too high - right up high on my shoulders for the first d-rings.

If the bp is higher up on my back so the shoulder pads and d-rings are more on my chest, the waist belt seems to high.

I could remedy this (i think) by adding some more length to the portion of the shoulder strap where the shoulder pads are, but the assembly pics show that the shoulder strap length from top of the bp to the ring is essentially the shoulder pad length only.

Is it just a matter or playing around? Is anyone able to understand my description?

Cheers

It looks like the exact same rig as the hollis elite II which I put together. My instructions said that the last D ring on the shoulder strap should be just about level with your nipple. I set mine about 3/4 inch above, but I think it should work for me. I'll find out a week from tomorrow ;)

Oh and as zoom5 linked, I think the most important (I have no experience but it seems logical to me) is that the backplate sits just below your extruding vertebrae so you can reach the valves.
