Halcyon makes really good wings, but yes they are the highest priced ones as well.

You will get lots of opinions here, but general consensus might be that Vintage Double Hose - VDH is probably the best single-tank wing for quality/value right now.

Having too many option is confusing for me!
Although @Marie13 thinks OMS backplate might be big on me, what's your opinion on OMS BP/W system? The overall price would be ~$500 for the complete set, which isn't too bad.

Another wing people mention is: Deep 6 Gear 13.5kg/30lb Single Tank Wing
I don't have it, but have their regs, which I like.

I've got a Dive Rite doubles wing and the OxyCheq Mach V singles wing, both of which I like. The OxyCheq doesn't fold for travel very well, as apparently some others do. Several companies wings or even harnesses come in colors. Color webbing itself is easy.

They’re suggesting a more affordable option. Plus with OMS, I believe their harness has their name all over the danged thing. Huge walking ad!

this. Was just trying to recommend other options. Nothing wrong with OMS, great kit, but a little higher priced than other options. Generally speaking DGX, VDH, and Dive Right In Scuba (DRIS) all have BP/W setups that are high quality at lower price points. Sorry if that confused you, if you are set on OMS and $$ is not an issue then by all means you can't go wrong.

It’s not just the OMS BP. It’s would be any standard BP. For example, the standard BP put the belt at my hips, not waist, and one shoulder strap was always falling off.

This video will explain about short vs standard sizes BP.

I'll definitely check the BP/W guide. Thanks for the recommendation!

Would it be okay to get a wing that's 2x lbs lift? I remember my instructor using a xdeep wing that had smaller lift.

It depends on your exposure protection and what tanks you’re using. I dive dry on the Great Lakes with thick thermals under my drysuit, a steel HP80 tank, and an AL40 for redundancy in deeper dives, and require 29 pounds total to get under (I’m naturally very buoyant). My single tank wing is 40lbs. It was what I won, so I just used it. But in my book, a bit extra lift is nice.

Okay! Thank you :)

The guys here can advise more on lift. What tanks are you diving and what is your wetsuit/drysuit?
