Two comments here.

ScubaSixString - You probably missed it but I could not run the 02 in Vplanner because it has to be registered to use a mix that high. I just downloaded it and have not yet paid for it. That is why it o2 was ommited from the calculations.

Nova - I am not DOING these dives. I am simply trying to increase my knowledge. These are theoretical discussions only for the sake of learning and discourse. I am a long way from deco diving, and even further from trimix diving. I'm not in a hurry, the theory just fascinates me, so I enjoy talking with you guys.

Couple o things....RELAX.....the reason, i think, nova is suggesting like he is is because noone wants you to get hurt. He's just making sure you understand not to try this stuff (i had my *** handed to me for mentioning a cave dive i did once....noncert....)

2. I tried vplanner too. That whole pay me thing didnt sit right. Try to find a copy of Zplanner (you'll have to look but its out there (i think new jersey divers has it)). its free to download. I have problems with the GUE on it (looks alot like Vplan but doesn't work for rep dives for some reason). Run ZPLAN under dos and manually edit the profile.dat file. it allows all mixes.

On a side note: If someone is using He to deco (assuming (s)he isn't diving on it (then some of that dive would be assumed He deco)) and it works for them, good on em. Even after you get deco certed, don't do it unless you understand it (i know that goes without saying). WKPP people get bent, they die, they scream in the chamber like the rest of us. I'm not saying it CAN'T work, I just don't understand how. I hear argonox can be used for deco in certain very specific circumstances (whether thats true or not, i don't know)

As for theoretical questions, ask away! They can be fun to work through

I appreciate people not wanting me to get hurt. But, I am an extraordinarily careful person when it comes to this stuff. In fact, I know I am running at least 2 years ahead of the game right now in terms of trying to learn deco theory so that when I DO take the class, I won't be approaching it from ignorance, but from a studied position.

I hope to put some of these same questioins to Eric Baker next month when I meet him. If he can't give me an answer, one probably doesn't exist!

you don't need no stinking rebreather, just do what I do and breath in and out from the wing inflater hose :11:
