Olympus E-3 housing by Nexus

It looks like Olympus is not going to build a housing for the e-3, but they are leaving it to nexus of japan to build it. Looks pretty nice, I would guess that means expensive too!

Ikelite doesn't have any news of a housing for the E-3. They do have one coming for the D-300 in Dec. I guess keeping all the specs so secret for so long didn't help housing manufacturers. I'm guessing that the nikon was given to manufacturers early so they had something to work with.

I guess it's going to be a while before E-3 owners can get there cameras under water...unless they use a zip-loc!

The Nexas housing is coming to the U.S. in March I am told.

It can be ordered with fiber optic ports only.

With FO and two Olympus bulkheads for the Oly cords or with FO and Nikonos V bulkheads for the Nik V cords like the Inon and Sea&Sea cords.

Retail is $3100.00 with dual bulkheads (FO and Nik V) and the Olympus port adapter which allows for the thirteen different ports from Athena, Inon and Olympus. The adapter can also be removed for use with the Nexus M-6 ports making the number of ports even greater.

The SeaTool housing will also offer a removable port adapter which will work much like the Nexus adapter and the choice of fiber optics, Nik V bulkheads or both.

I have been using the fiber optics with the Inon Z-240 strobes in an Olympus E-410/PT-E03 housing for several months now and it is without question the most reliable TTL system I have used to date.
