We have the predecessor to your setup: the 4040Z & the PT010 housing.
While you CAN get away with using only the internal strobe for close-up/macro shots, I think you will find that being without an external strobe will limit your photo-taking opportunities.
We have tried both the S&S DX90 and the Ikelite DS125 and prefer the Ikelite because it will work as TTL; the S&S is manual only.

I know someone with a new PT-015 and can't use it. Check your PM's!
