Hi,

I'm looking for a new camera (currently using a canon a85, no strobe) and have spent much time deliberating, and far too much work time on forums and review sites ;) .

I am currently leaning towards a Olympus 7070, with ikelite housing and ds50 strobe. My nagging concern are some bad reports about autofocus. I have read that many of the Olympus models struggle in low light - does anyone have any experience of this?
Was also considering the Nikon 8400 until I read that it wasnt great for macro - again, anyone with any experience of this?

Any other suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks!

Jo

User of the 7070 and no issues with low light autofocus. Most people have problems using the autofocus at full zoom macro mode, but this is more due to the shallow depth-of-field than the low light. I have resolved that by stepping the zoom back a notch and using stacked UCL 165s. The autofocus is pretty sharp, hence the problems when the depth of field is small. Alternatively, u can try manual focus...
