What situations do you anticipate using this lens? What are the advantages of this lens over the 9-18 other than this lens is faster?

Again, I just ordered the lens. I have no idea what the advantage or disadvantage is.
I purchased it mainly as a primary for land use but I will try it out underwater when we get some god vis.

Advantages: A great little lens topside.
Disadvantages:
1. not really here nor there (not wide nor enough zoom to be a macro lens). I suppose ot could be allright for some CFWA, but see #2.
2. Good luck finding a port to take the lens without serious vignetting.
