Sorry for the cross post but I think I'll get more help in this section.

I inherited and old USD M2 computer. It has the factory changeable battery.
The LDS says "are you kidding? That thing is older than our technicians" So my question....and don't slam me because I know computers aren't vintage...is there a way to remove the back (it's a plastic case with two small tabs) without trashing it?

I know someone here has had one of these in the past and has opened it up.

ignore this post...I screwed it up.

FWIW if it's the square box looking M2 computer that looks like a tiger LCD game from the 80's, it's full of this crazy silicone gel looking stuff and has a soldered battery anyway. I tried to service one and nuked it.
 
I have also trashed a USD computer to see if i could do a DIY. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. I was not going to send it off as it was obsolete. It is now a paperweight.
