I'd really appreciate hearing people's experiences/thoughts!

I bought my Zeagle (Apeks) Flathead6/TX100 reg back in the Spring of '99. It has been a great reg. (apart from a little wet breathing if I do barrel rolls, head down or other other "atypical" maneuvers).

Has anyone used this type of reg. along with the newer Apeks TX100 and/or new Zeagle Flathead6 (or DSIV) to be able to compare their performance?

I need to get a second reg. very soon (2nd primary) and so I would really appreciate hearing your experiences, thoughts or advice!

Thanks *very* much!

Cheers,
Jon

I have the new Zeagle-Zeagle Flathead Six and I love it. Zeagle has tweaked them and improved them even more! It has given me well over a hundred, trouble-free dives. It breathes as easily now as the first time I used it. I hear they are going to make them breathe better in the NEAR future, and they are changing the ports so hoseless transmitters fit onto the first stage even better! (Did you know that they already exceed the USN requirements for 198' when they are over 300' !!!)

Norm, thanks for your reply!

Wow, you really make the new Zeagle sound great!

Have you ever tried the old Zeagle Apeks FH6 or the new Apeks TX-100 (or dare I say it, the ScubaPro Mk-20/250,500,600) to be able to compare it with your new Zeagle FH6?

Thanks so much again for your reply Norm!

Cheers,
Jon

P.S. Any rough guesstimate as to when Zeagle is going to make the change you mentioned?

I doubt you would be able to tell a significant difference in the breathability of any of those regs (all relevant things being equal). They are all top of the line regs. I've used a newer TX100 quite a bit and couldn't tell the difference between it and my other Apeks regs (except the TX40, of course) and Scuba Pro regs I've tried. The differences you would notice are price, ergonomics, and cosmetics for the most part.

Good luck,

Mike

...Norm and Mike for sharing your experiences. It sounds like Zeagle's/Apeks older FH6-TX100 is pretty much the same then as the TX100 now being sold thru Aqualung minus the 1/2" port.

I really apreciate your help...thanks again!

Cheers!
Jon
