Welcome to SB!

Garden State, as in New Jersey? And you’re in Missouri? Sounds like a story here. Do tell.

A story indeed. When I was about 24 years old I trained to be a rescue and recovery diver in a small town of Milford,NJ. The name of the organization was Garden State Underwater Rescue and recovery. I remained with them for a few years until I went to an aeronautical institute for aviation training. I worked for a couple of small airlines and then went to Continental Airlines which later became United. I’m retired now so I have free time and a boat load of experience when it comes to life support, mechanical engineering, electronics, and of course flight !
I would like to become a certified dive equipment repair and calibration technician but, my search is turning up a whole lot of bull squirt from the so called schools here in Florida. I could go to the Philippines . Been there and it’s nice but I would rather keep my money here in the U.S. . I’m running short on patience and might just have to go there. Their prices are ridiculous and I truly am not sure it’s entirely safe there. I had a buddy I worked with who moved there to teach and also fly cargo to enhance his salary. I haven’t heard from him in 18 months.
Oh, I have a home in Missouri, one in New Jersey, and one here in Florida . Nope I’m not wealthy. One is a family homestead. The one in Mo is a ranch which my Son takes care of and the other on belongs to my oldest Son who we sponge off of in the winter ! There you go, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

You might want to check with @rsingler. He offers courses such as you’re looking for and is well thought of here and in the dive community in general. Also, he’s a nice guy to work with.

Welcome - cool back story!

The manufacturers run repair classes but they are set up for shop employees not the general public. Although I haven't taken it, Rsingler's class is universally acclaimed.
