Unfortunately I think the trade in program ended in 2007. :depressed:

Looks like some are a day late & a dollar short---mean 2 years late & about 100 bucks short......

Unfortunately I think the trade in program ended in 2007. :depressed:

Actually, because of so many people who were late to the game on the trade-in program, Mares reintroduced the trade-in program this month and it is good through the end of this year.

Forget about the trade-in, just go here for the Voltrex and save even more!

Mares Voltrex with MR22 First Stage reviews and discounts, Mares

I've used a Dacor extreme plus since 1993. Looking at it now all I see is an over engineered monster with MANY failure points, but it was a good reg to me and never did.

I don't buy that Mares didn't have an intentional hand in the discontinuation of Dacor's parts as those companies who actually made them would be selling a ton of that stuff right now! And Mares does have some valid reasons not to, logistics, liability, etc.

This whole thing really pissed me off for a while, tracking down rebuild kits, shops not selling me extra ones that were sitting right there on the shelf due to, you guessed it, liability.........and then I met my new love and all is well....APEX! Now I can buy as many rebuild kits as I want and do whatever I want. Freedom.

Getting back to the OP's question.

What's it worth?

If you intend on buying the setup, it is probably best not to invest much money. I would opt for a different manufacturer who still supports older models such as ScubaPro or Aqualung.

If you intend on selling the setup, do a bit of research on eBay or just put it up for sale; but again, I would not expect to see it bring much money.

However, if you are happy with the performance, it's value can be very high in that you really do not need to replace it with a newer model. There are still ways to get it serviced if needed. See this thread for a few options.

One thing you may want to consider regarding service though. Annual service is usually overkill and a gimmick used for supporting the LDS's beer fund. Learning to check your equipment is very important and will help YOU determine if your equipment needs service. See this link for a set of checks everyone is capable of and should be doing:

Good luck,
