Can anyone ID this Seaquest BC? Seems to be semi-modular, though it does not break down further than what's shown It is a seriously over-engineered, overbuilt, overly complex heavy duty thing with buckles all over the place, including some that don't really make sense. It has a fold-out pocket and an asymertical pocket, trim weight pockets and huge weight pockets without any clips or retaining device.
Been diving for 60 years and this one has me stumped.

The black diamond logo on the pocket suggests it is a Black Diamond but i have never seen one that looks like that. A home-brewed modification?

Looks like it is professionally manufacture, not homemade.

Looks like it is professionally manufacture, not homemade.

Yeah i am pretty sure it's a modified Black Diamond. See this page from the manual, showing the rows of grommets for the waist belt attachment, which you can see in your photos. It's missing a backpad and some other stuff.

Very interesting! Did Black Diamond have a marketing relationship with SeaQuest? What year is that user's manual and is the model name listed?

Black Diamond was the model. Sea Quest was a division of US Divers (Aqualung). I think it was a separate company that USD acquired.

It looks like it was an early model, which used velcro to secure the weight pockets, before they came up with the "Surelock" weight pocket system.
