I just finished my OW cert, and I'm looking at getting some gear, but I'd like to try some out first... I have all my own snorkel gear, so I'm set there... Can anyone tell me what kind of gear is available for rent, specifically Torii and Kadena Scuba Lockers? I did my cert through Tsunami, and while there gear worked fine, it seemed a little dated, and I'd like to try something that is a little more current, and some different brands so I can get a feel for what I might like to buy. Thanks a lot!

I would suggest trying a rear inflate BC Torii has some for rent along with a jacket style. Trying a Backplate and wing would be a good idea too. Regs are limited Torii I believe has Aqualung and Kadena has the low end TUSA I think.
We have BP's for rent at our shop on the seawall if you would like to give it a go give us a call or stop by. See the link in my signature.

We have a couple different regs in rental also - Dive Rite, TUSA, Sherwood for now.

Hi Scuds,

Most of the rental stuff is fairly low end. I dive ScubaPro exclusively though there are some other great regs out there. I used to dive Apeks, but the parts kits for annual service and rebuilds were a bit steep. If you are interested, come out and join us sometime with the OUE and we can let you try some higher end ScubaPro regs to see what you think.

I rented gear from Torii Scuba Locker. They carry the Aqulaung Kronos for rental. Which is a high end regulator for Okinawa type weather. The Bc's there are the Seaquest Balance which is a rear inflate. They carry some of the best equipment I have ever seen! Some folks seem new, but some of the staff I spoke with are extremely knowledgeable and really seemed to know what theyre talking about.I suggest to check them out.
