Okay Dive Shops & Instructors, I Want My Cut!

I had the opportunity to talk to all of the 2nd graders at my wife's elementary school today. They have a writing assignment and ironically the project is for them to write about a fictitious dive trip they took (Dive in to Summer). So of course she asked me to speak to them about everything scuba.

I sold them hard on how awesome scuba is, which we all know sells itself and so I'm sure some of them will be future customers one day (Don't forget my finders fee cut ) as they really enjoyed the subject.

Naturally, the top topics were sharks (them), taking care of the ocean (me) and both the teachers and myself pointing out they need a good education so they can get a good job and spend all of their money on expensive scuba gear.

Anyway, I've been busy as hell with work and my second son is due June 2nd so I haven't been on here as much as usual. I tried to dive this past Monday, but with diver cancellations and fair weather we scratched the trip. Rescheduled for this Monday, fingers crossed.

That isn't at Mildred Helms is it? My wife told me they were having some kind of scuba presentation this week and we lamented that we would have liked to be involved

No, but I imagine all of our schools in the area have similar curriculum. I enjoyed it and the kids seemed to really enjoy it too. I've been in her classes on several occasions throughout the years and the kids will ask me about what I do for work and they quickly regret it when I start talking about retirement planning. Haha, not interested, can't blame them at that age.

We only had so much time and unfortunately I couldn't even answer all of their questions as so many took an interest... You know, like "Have you dove to the Titanic? lol.

I gave the teachers links to my YouTube account and they showed them some videos after I left.
