YEEEEEHHHHAAA . . Thanks so much Justleesa !!! That is EXACTLY what I was looking for !!!!
Will give it a try tonight when I get home . .:)
PM sent with same info as Justleesa..when you push ok at the end it "takes a picture" of your white slate/board..it does not show a picture in memory thou..remember to reset it as depth/light conditions change..think about getting a strobe in future Leave on auto wb then..makes a world of difference.the photo "jumps"out of the frame then..

I DOOOOOOO have a STROBE OLY (INON 2000D I believe). . . that has not been the question . . LOL . . as you well know . . anything more than 3 or 4 foot distance and the strobe just does not work. It is at this point that I want to be able to ADJUST the White Balance. This is what Tim at Coco View teaches and what I have been in search of . . :o) Thanks for the HELP one and all ! ! ! :)

So? did you find it? Did it work?

I have noticed, that when I set MWB it doesn't do me much good at greater depths. I'm happy with the results on shallow dives though :D

if you have a strobe I would suggest to leave it on auto wb..use the method explained here for available light.would work better if shallow rather than deep..

I knew the good folks here could help you Zor. Glad you got your answer.

Will be my pleasure there Justleesa !!! Will be on the look out for more Sea Horses . . . found the little rascals for the first time last year and got a few good pics. This year . . . I want some macro pics that will let me see more detail on these little creatuires . . so we will see !! :o) Thanks again !!

And this was right there to . .

Obviously these were both taken with a flash . . . but its the distant shots where the flash is not effective is why I was asking directions for the WB adjustment. Like in this pic . . . the WB could have been a bit better in this one . . it would have helped . .

what you do with this shot is light up the foreground-the orange sponge-with the strobe and balance the exposure for available light..get as close as you can to sponge(much easier with a wa lens) and shoot at upward angle, preferrably with perhaps the sun creating a ball effect there..the technique is called close focus wide angle(cfwa)..shoot alot of pictures and you will find they get better and you will find what works for you.
