Do not know what is happening . . ???

Need a bit of HELP from the Oly C5050 masters . . please :D

Have been looking for some directions on how to adjust the MANUAL WHITE BALANCE on my C5050 for UW shots. Infoumation is scare in the manual and I was hoping that I could get some insight from the MASTERS . . :D

Will be on my next dive trip shortly and want to learn the WHITE BALANCE adjustment concept that I have seen used. Any HELP would be GREATLY appreciated . . Mark

THANKS . . greatly APPRECIATE it . . PM sent :)

I've read my manual cover to cover, including the manual wb part and am still a little sketchy. I suspect my SP has the same procedure as the 5050. Here's my question. Do you take a shot of your white board (and how do you get adequate distance to fill the screen and still have proper ambient light) or do you prefocus on the white board and then take your shot? Will the camera continue to keep the wb setting until you change it, and if you took a WB shot, how do you let the camera know you're taking another one? Thanks for your patience with my stupidity.

To make the WB adjustment shot you go into a special mode. You hold the slate infront of the lens in such a way that there are no shadows on it. It must fill your screen. I have also adjusted off sand (we have pretty light colored sand). when you set your WB you press the ok button, not the shutter release. If you change your depth or the day light should change you have to set your WB again.
The setting will remain until you change it, even if you go to Auto WB.

That is EXACTLY what I want to do JUSTLEESA . . . and you make it sound sooooo easy . . . but . . . I ask again . . HOW do I do this ????

Where is this SPECIAL MODE . . . HOW do I get there . . . what is the BUTTON sequence to getting there . . ????

Your example above is what I want to do . . just HOW do I do it is what I am after . . LOL . . just a weeeeew bit of frustration here Leesa . . . :)

Here is the sequence:

ok button>mode menu>picture>WB>bottom selection with square & 2 triangles

then you have the one touch WB screen. Hold your slate in front of the lens and push the ok button. It will calibrate, you should notice that the colors are now different.
Try it, let me know that if it works ;)

YEEEEEHHHHAAA . . Thanks so much Justleesa !!! That is EXACTLY what I was looking for !!!!
Will give it a try tonight when I get home . .:)
