Well I've decided on a White's Fusion and will hopefully be ordering it by the end of the month. I just need to decide on which undies to package with it. I dive almost exclusively Great Lakes, typical bottom temps for me in Lake Erie is around 45 degrees, and I'm told the other lakes are colder but I don't have much experience outside of Erie. Right now I dive typical recreational dives, multiple dives a day, but since the bottom times are relatively short, warmth has yet to be an issue in my 5mm wetsuit. I am taking NAUI intro to tech starting the end of this month, and then Tech 1 when my instructor feels I'm prepared, so bottom times will be getting longer and longer in the future. I'm leaving towards the Mk3 right now and just wanted some input before I order.

One more thing, 6mm neoprene socks?

Hi Jimmer: I think the right choice in the Whites line would be the Glacier MK2 John. They also have the MK3, but if you're doing good at 45 degrees in 5mm of neoprene, then I take it you run a little warm blooded and the MK2 would probably be enough. For my wallet, and your wallet might be different than mine, the MK2 and MK3 are expensive... Excellent products for sure, and likely worth every penny, BUT I've seen less expensive alternatives. If you're considering these, I'd email or call Whites directly to ask for advice on it. They were pretty friendly with me when I had questions.

I was just reading a very positive review of some custom Polartec? undies on DiveMatrix called SoftWear. The review on that board is here:

Softwear Undergarments: My diving just got more comfortable thanks to Janice :) - The Dive Matrix Forums

And the web site is here...

SoftWear for the Scuba Diver

Anyway, the reviews are good and the pricing is very reasonable. I have no personal experience with these undies, but at the very least it's worth checking out. Best of luck!

I wrote about the Mk3 here: http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/exposure-suits/221032-whites-mk3-undergarment-impressions.html

I've only dived it 4-5 times so far, but I'm coming away more and more impressed each time, especially since I've had pretty major leaks on the last couple of dives and the MK3 has kept me warm throughout.

Looks like its time to upgrade ;) Glad the MK3 is doing its job...that Primaloft is what is keeping you warm even when wet...pretty cool stuff:14:

Jimmer....You might want to start with the MK2, this seems like it would be the best for right now, and if you get a little chilled, you can always layer up. If you start with the MK3 and its too hot, you cant do anything but buy another undergarment.

OR...you could do the MK2 John and get the MK3 jacket.....The jacket has removeable sleeves for when its warmer, or just wear the john....and when its colder throw both on.....Just thinking outside the box while my paint dries

Just got done doing some painting(girlfriend is gonna be surprised when she wakes up) :eyebrow:

Hello Mike, I sent you a PM a couple of days ago about the Fusion & undies etc. Have you looked at your email inbox recently.
