I go the more natural route and have used Peanut Butter ...
Hmmm... Do I hear any votes for chocolate syrup, whipped cream & sprinklies? :crafty:
Peanut butter has oil to cut the grease, plus a mild "abrasive" quality to it, its easy to see how it could work out pretty well. I hate to be mobbed by rodents though, getting jumped by the squirrels is bad enough; I wonder if beaver like PB too? (They have the big critters right in downtown St Louis - we'd see them in the river right below the arch.)
I did find a mouse nest inside my spare suit, I'd hate to make the thing any more attractive to the dang varmints.

Nevermind . . .

Like dissolves like, and that is the reason that baby oil or acetone dissolves tar deposits. Dont dive it, tar has carcinogenic properties, and I am a doctor.

Okay, thanks for all the input from everyone. I'm deciding not to dive it because it sounds like too much of a hassle. Peanut butter? This is starting to turn into an 'old-fashioned' medicine thing :eyebrow:

Hey Tevis! Thanks for the heads up! I didn't know it was carcinogenic...no more bodyboarding there anymore either then...but I'll miss that spot, it was great for bodyboarding and that's where I had an extremely close encounter with a pod of 10 dolphins, jumping in and out of the water all around us. Very excellent experience, along with many others on that beach ;)

Thanks everyone. I'll probably only dive it if my research diving takes me there in the future.

I used baby oil & it worked great, baby oil is better than tar. I'd rather have baby oil on my feet than PB.

Happy Diving
