I'm a Fish!
Our ODA fearless leader Kurt Leiber shoved off Thursday to do some first hand underwater documentation of the affects on Marine Life, and participate in wildlife clean-ups in Louisiana. We wish him luck and not to get any goop in the back up Regs I sent :~).

On the local political front, I encourage all Cali's who are voting this June to "just say no" to Prop 14. It will essentially eliminate all 3rd party votes and sucks. I was weened on my second ammendment rights and have always voted down the "Right" side of the ballot, but today I love the 3rd party wheather Green, Libertarian or ?????

Off my soapbox now, send good vibes to Kurt, nobody is giving us this near shore underwater documentation.

I am never a fan of off-shore drilling, especially around the US coasts. I'd rather bleed the other countries dry first.

While there is a certain logic to that, H.T., I'd much rather we really invested in alternate energy instead of coddling up to the petrochemical companies just because of their huge investment in energy infrastructure (and huge donations to our representatives).

As well, purchasing oil from OPEC, Venezuela, Etc. funds the other side of the war, i.e. those countries and administrations that would like to destroy us (U.S.), nasty business.

And in many areas the technology is already available. However, as long as big business is filling political coffers, big oil will continue to thrive. Ridiculous!!

Yes, I see the petrochemical industry (as well as the power companies) in the same light as the dinosaurs. I guess we need a meteor or asteroid impact to do them in (and us, too?). Of course I am part of the problem... I probably buy 30-40 gallons of gasoline a year (thank goodness for a 70 mpg golf cart and a 38 mpg Toyota Tercel).

I hate to say it but I hope the spill continues for months. Its the only way Americans will learn a lesson they should have learned in the 70's. Never again do I want to hear the words drill baby drill.

sunfishh,

How can you wish such a thing? Only a very naive person would even consider that a good thing. The impact will be felt for generations and the Gulf fishing industries will not recover for our, and probably our childrens, lifetimes.
