The water is warm in the river and I only need a 3/2 mm wet-suit in the summer but the last few years the currents have been challenging and the visibility disappointing. I don't think I will be going there next year but will head to Kingston instead. Will need a dry-suit to be comfortable but the visibility below the thermocline is usually a lot better.
 
It was pretty poor on the wrecks Aug 10, 11 with the exception of the America which wasn't too bad.

The accident site mark on the map in the CBC report looks to be just downstream from the wreck of the Wolfe islander... Was he diving that wreck when things went south?
