Well, I just removed the back and hip pad on my TPII.....now it's a just stiff backplate, without all the unnecessary padding. I'll do a few dives Sunday at San Miguel to see how it dives.

Is this the beginning of me turning to the dark side?

If this is the dark side, welcome! I got rid of the pads on my TP after the first dive. Still have 'em, just don't need 'em! Besides which, they add buoyancy (minimal) but still...

I bet you'll find that you love the simplicity. Do a weight check at 500 PSI to see how much lead you can get rid of.

While at it remove the whole TPII, and switch to BP and use your current wing.

Yea, that's a better idea! :)

Resistance is futile.

My first BC was a Transpac II with a rec wing. Now the Harness gets used with a travel wing in the pool when I'm teaching. All my open water dives are with BP and wing. Best of luck on your journey!!
