I snuck in the water at Old Garden Beach today for a little pre-holiday dive.

It was a very high tide, but, overall conditions were good. The temp out of the water was in the upper 40s (which was great) and the water temp at depth (45') was still around 41degs. Vis was a steady 15-20'. Nice mellow winter shore dive.

Glad to see the temp hasn't dropped yet. I'm hoping to do the same thing next week.

Love the new lobster avatar. Looks like the real thing. I didn't want to say anything before, but the previous critter there looked more like a crayfish than a lobster! lol!

but I'm not an expert on avatars and that was the closest I could find.

I don't personally think that they were ever here in their "normal" numbers this year.

Maybe not, but I managed to bag easily three or four times the number of lobsters I've gotten in previous years. Quite possibly as a result of diving from a boat more often than from shore.

I know some people that had good years at certain locations. But, I feel confident in saying that there were fewre bugs at OGB this year than last year.
