Any chance of a saturday afternoon charter??? Just wondering!!

What are water temps in/around Brockville in late October anyway?

My logged dive on the Gaskin on Oct 31, 2002 shows a water temp of 48F!

I had on my 5/7mm wetsuit and a 3mm hooded vest.

I dive wet until the new year, anyway, when Mrs. Bosslady will let me spend more on gear. I don't mind diving wet - heck, I'll ice-dive wet. But I do mind being on an open boat and not having access to a warm, dry place to change and being enroute to another dive site and stuck in the open air, being wet.

Hmmm... maybe if I catch hypothermia, she'll let me get a drysuit quicker. Naw - probably not. :)

I did ask folk if anyone was interested, and no one said anything, so I did not ask for any more charters other than for Saturday and Sunday morning.

So once again.... is anyone interested?

Hi, it's me again, your friendly neighborhood freediver. Some of you I may have met at the last get-together in July - I was the nutty one in the 2mm shorty getting used to a new snorkel on the Connie.

Anyway I'd like to participate in this October get-together as well (in substantially more neoprene :D ) but since I'm not certified scuba I know I won't be taking a charter.

Is anyone planning to do any shore dives?

In specific, does anyone know of any other freedivers or snorkellers with whom I could share a dive? :snorkel:

OK - not like anyone REALLY cares but me, but -

- I am the owner of a new DUI CNSE drysuit. :D

:bounce:

I'm running around for the next few weekends practicing away in shallow water and working my way into the thing... I figure 80 feet in current is NOT the time to learn proper drysuit buoyancy in the St. Lawrence.

Dan's Dive Shop in St. Catharines is awesome.

$*/@&^!!!! I knew you'd beat me!

Ok, I'll try your technique....

ARRRRRRRGGH!!! I want a drysuit!!!!!!!!

Very jealous man...congratulations.

I don't know if anyone has ever seen a divorce lawyer over a drysuit, but I think I came awfully close.

"Can I have a drysuit?" "No."
"Can I have a drysuit?" "No."
"Can I have a drysuit?" "No - shut up."
"Can I have a drysuit?" "No - I said shut up."
"Can I have a drysuit?" "No."
"Can I have a drysuit?" "No."
"Can I have a drysuit?" "Damnit - shut up."
"Can I have a drysuit?" "No."
"Can I have a drysuit?" "SHUT UP ABOUT THE STUPID DRYSUIT."
"I will if I get a drysuit." :)

Voila - Jeff now has a drysuit. And about 3 years shaved off his marriage.
