I have good news, Cathy was able to move the other group so we get Turkey roost and the pavilion!

I also have bad news, the river is supposed to reach flood stage by friday night. When it does, Ginnie will close its gates until the water recedes. Hopefully that will be before April 23, but if they are still closed by that wednesday I'll let everyone know and we will have to reschedule.

i'll get my mojo working on the river

(plus eight cats' worth of mojo)

(and an Irish wife's)

The cave gods are just upset that the local zip code divers and shops in NFL have not banded together to hire Marci and I as official rain makers and flood moderators.

We were there in January and NFL had nice gentle rains. It did not rain again until we were there in March, and then after more nice gentle rains, you let us leave and the angry cave gods have been flooding the place ever since.

I'm telling you - a couple days of Marci's bumble bee dry suit and my Shrek hat and the flood waters will recede....

LOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm still trying to get over it (SMILE)

P.S. It's going to be close at Cathy's but I think she is going to be OK !!!! (48.6 foot crest at Luraville). The Santa Fe will rise about 7-10 feet before it crests at the SR 47 Bridge. So that means the river will probably beat the 1998 flood levels. More to come.

Just left Ginnie. The Run is up a couple of feet, I am 6'3" and can just barely stand on the bottom at the little devils stairway. The Ear is tannic down past 25'(far as I went), but the Eye is good to go for now. It is a little dusty/milky in the cave, and the flow is waaaayyyy down, as to be expected.

More to follow, as I have plans to dive Ginnie a few times this week.

Ps - They have put up the tarp across the run.

Good job! :thumb:

Now hope the SantaFe cooperates.....

Hmmm,... so Ginnie is still open? That in and of itself is good news! Awesome on the pavillion transfer! Cruzan is afe for now,... I've been working with power tools for the last few days and it's been bad enough focusing without slicing an artery open! Have come close! Good mojo to the river gods! MOJO! MOJO! MOJO! CREOLE! OLE!

I'm up in the air about Megadive...that's right in finals week territory for me, and 17 credit hours won't leave me much free time. Melissa doesn't want to go either, as she also has 17 credit hours and she'll be feeling the pressure of finals week too.

However she tells me that she danced in the coconut bra and grass skirt last time, while I was diving! Anyone have pictures of that? I was hoping to get her going around the fire in the get up this year but since she won't be coming and I'm iffy about it, I thought I'd see if anyone had a pic from last time.

even if you can't come the whole time, maybe a few hours of fire time would be a welcome study release treat...

Problem is, it's a 2.5 hour trip up and a 2.5 hour trip back. So any time spent at Megadive comes with a 5 hour pricetag in travel time, which also means $30 or so atleast in gas. I'd really love to make it up there, we'll see what happens !
