Yeah. I'm kinda wondering - folks putting out there "I want one SS in L and an AL one in L also!" and if they expect what the wait has actually become. Or are they assuming it will be shipped or ready to be shipped in a couple of months based on that post.

Does anyone actually know if there is an expected wait time currently?

Definitely more than 2 months. I have been on for 12+ months and I have not been there long.

I would like to firm commit to order a large SS Freedom plate. and am happy to engage in whatever deposit scheme or sacrificial rite would make that feasible.

I think the only deposit required is patience, and you pay that over time.

Eric mentioned in another thread that he's still making them occasionally for people who are helping out with the purple urchin culling project. So if you live in or can travel to NorCal for occasional bouts of urchin bashing, there may be hope

I'm living in Asia these days but good tip for others in the area! I've resigned myself to not getting one of these but still admire the pics people post.
