off to belize, where to stay, what operator?

First time poster here...

I'm off to Belize this week, and haven't yet made any plans other than to fly into belize city and then head off to somewhere ( ambergis? placentia? ) from there...

Any recommendations for a good land-based operator (e.g. 8 per boat ) and cheap place to stay?
