We thumbed the boat diving for Sunday because the forecast called for swells up to 18 ft., so I headed down to Monastery and Point Lobos. :eyebrow::eyebrow:

Not to dive, silly, to film the waves crashing against the shore. At Monastery the waves were going up over the berm. At Point Lobos the surge was going past the ramp, into the parking lot. If you ever wanted to see Sea Otters, today was the day. There must have been two dozen seeking refuge in Whaler's Cove. Even more Harbor Seals. Some big ones, too.

I hiked up the hill to see the waves crashing against the Cannery Point rocks. Some were high enough to almost reach the top of the highest rocks. The "splash" was twice as high as the rocks. I took some video of both sites for Doc Wong's "when NOT to dive Monastery" video.
