Another vote for Taylor Maid (and on to Candyland as a drift dive). And while you are in the North continue up to Nukove. We were there on a day with winds in excess of 25 knots and passed on other sites (Karpata & Ol Blue) due to wave action, but Nukove was relatively flat. If you've not found the road before, drive right up to BOPEC. Just before security entrance, the road turns to the right and you drive along side the BOPEC security fence, up the hill before turning around the back side of BOPEC. Be careful, keep an eye out for donkeys, be sure you pack plenty of water and fluids as it is a slow ride back through there but worth it!

When you come to the top of the BOPEC fence and want to turn left, stay straight ahead to the right.
The two routes come back together shortly...

OK then, dammit, I'm going here again on day 2 of my next Bonaire trip.
And I'm gunna get WET this time...

Now...I need to figger out when my next Bonaire trip is...
:coffee:

We Have a group trip planned in 2011 staying at the plaza, check the dny forum invades bonaire.:D

Cool, thanks for the suggestions, all!
-Yeah, I'm pretty certain my wife and I walked down that same path but it wasn't painfully obviously where to "leap" from. (similar to the previous poster) Guess we'll have to take a better look when we're there next week. Last december the currents were all messed up in that area, anybody ever have to fight the current back to Karpata?

-I'll be e-mailing Bas shortly.

Thanks again!

for the record...Bas Tol and 'Bas from VIP Diving' (me) are two different people. Both Bonaire residents, both dive guides, very confusing :)

Bas Tol's email was in a previous posting. Mine is bas@vipdiving.com

Bas Noij is the man. the other Bas could be the man but never got a chance to dive with him. Dove with Bas Noij this past august. we did the LaDania's Leap thing and Tailor Maid. Both excellent dives and for a first time its a good idea to have a guide. For me its always good to have a guide :)
after you've seen it most likely you could do either on your own. Both are much better than the average dive on Bonaire and that's all to the good.
Enjoy

Another dive to consider with Bas Noij, VIP divers, is Cai. We did that dive with him and it was the best dive we did the whole week. I can't wait to plan my next Bonaire trip and dive with Bas again. If I knew how to attach pictures, I would:D
