The Legend octo is a good choice for the Titan LX. The Titan LX varies from the Legend in name only as far as the second stage goes. I do in fact, before getting a second Titan LX second stage, used my wife's Legend octo and it is a good match. Forget the name games these companies play, the Titan LX second is the SAME as the Legend and Legend octo except that the Legend LX has the tension knob and the Legend octo is yellow. The Legend octo does not have the tension knob BTW.
As to the Titan LX being mid level, whatever, since I have both the Titan LX and the Legend LX I have made many dives using both, the Titan is 98% as good as what is in fact one of the best single hose regulators on the market, the Legend LX.
