SENECA, S.C. -- An Anderson man died from injuries sustained in a tubing accident on Lake Keowee on Saturday.

According to Karl Addis with the Oconee County Coroner's Office, 32-year-old Ted R. Allaire fell off of a tube and struck a dock at about 6:55 p.m.

Bystanders and emergency crews tried to save him by performing CPR, but he was pronounced dead at 7:52 p.m. in the Oconee Medical Center emergency department.

Addis said he had sustained multiple blunt force trauma, and his primary cause of death appears to be a head injury.

A limited autopsy will be performed on Sunday morning to document all injuries. Specimens will be collected and submitted to SLED in accordance with state law.

In the meantime, the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources is investigating.
