I have the Aeris XR1 (the nitrox version) which is very much like the Oceanic Veo 180. They are simple, they provide the minimum info you need from a computer (BT, depth, NDL calcs) and they are simple to use (1 button, 2 screens available during the dive). I learned to dive on it and I think they are a perfect option to begin diving a computer while doing basic rec diving.
I read your other thread and I think based on why you are buying it, picking the best priced model is the way to go. If you start diving more and require more functions you are going to end up getting a more advanced computer anyway and this one will become a good backup (as mine has).
