I just bought one and I'm waiting on it to be shipped. My questions are for those that have dove with an Excursion. How do you like it and are you satisfied with it? Also this is going to be my first back inflate bc any advice is appreciated.Last Question have you had any problems with it?

I have dove with a back inflate BC for years now. The good is that I think it helps with your positioning in the water. With the air behind you, your body naturally straightens out in a horizonial position better. I think, and this may just be me, that with a back inflate you need less air added or removed to intiate that change you want to make. The only thing you have to work on a little is when you are on the surface. The back inflate has a tendency to throw you forward in the water. You have to make more of an effort to throw your head and upper body back in the water to keep yourself from shifting forward. You get used to it though. Good luck with it.

I own one and I think it is the most comfortable BCD I have ever owned. I have worn the Old style Oceanic Probe, Old Style Oceanic Excursion, Old style DUI, Zeagle Ranger, and Mares Hub Avantegarde. My advice is that when you do have to sit on the surface for a length of time then do not completely inflate the BCD so that you feel like you are tipping forward. Deflate just a little and lay back in it. I put smaller weights in the trim pockets and larger weights in front pockets, seems obvious but I thought I would mention it.

Got mine 2 months ago and already have 18 dives on it. Love it, works great and quality it top shelf. No problems what so ever. Very stable in the water easy to use and lots of D rings for my gear. I highly reccomend it, you will love it.

I tried on BC's from all of the major manufacturers and decided that I am going to buy an Excursion next month. Aside from liking the way that it fit my body style the best, it seems to be a truly outstanding BC for less money than most of the competitors. Larry from ScubaToys has it for $450 after the SB discount. I haven't found a better price with a full factory warranty anywhere else. I do not think you will be disappointed.

I'm happy with my knighthawk, also a back inflated BC and already adjusting to it well. Used to have the Oceanic Probe LX, but then moved to back inflated.

I dive with a Chute 3, an kinda "early version" of the Excursion. It's an awesome BC, and according to a lot of other pple, the Excursion is much lighter and more comfy. So, good call on that. With the back inflate, u wanna inflate it just enough to keep ur head above the surface, and u'll find that the tendency to throw u face front is minimal. At depth, it's kept snug and nice behind you, whereas the jacket might cause some hindrance. My 2 cents though..

Happy diving!
