I'm a new diver, but fwiw I absolutely love mine. I borrowed a different regulator a couple weeks ago for a class because I forgot mine - I couldn't believe how much more difficult it was to breathe - and this wasn't a shop rental, it was one of a divemaster's personal regulators...

My wife and I purchased this set up and love it.Were new to the sport of diving and
have only used a few other regs but I researched and tried differant models and manufactures and found this was the one for us.Now the dry valve feature was not a selling point to us it was the feel of the reg and also I liked the swiv feature.A very comfortable regulator.:D

I bought an Oceanic Alpha 8 set of regs (both primary and octo) with the PX-3 balanced 1st stage and I've been loving it every time I dive. It breathes a lot easier than any other reg I've used and delivers as much air as I want at anytime.

I have the DVT also, but I still am cautious about water getting near the 1st stage w/o the cap in place.

wow, thanks! this helps alot. i am very happy to read that everyone like the regulator! ive heard nothing but good things about oceanic.

I love the price. I love swivel. I love the way it breathes. I always use the dust cap so DVT is not why I bought it. If all regs alway came with DVT then you wouldn't see all the criticism. Buy the reg for everything about it. Ignore the DVT. You never know if it really would save your reg or for how long it will do its job. Love my reg. DVT is just icing on the cake.

I have the FDX-10/delta 4 and Love it dearly. I did buy it for the DVT, but I really wouldn't recommend dunking the reg without the cap on. I like to look at the DVT as added insurance that bad things will stay out of my reg.

I've heard GREAT things about the Delta-IV especially when factoring in money. I bought the Delta3 and a Zeta (both Oceanic regs) and I think both are great and would have NO hesitation in buying another Oceanic reg.

I've held the Delta4 and it seems like a quality piece and the guys at my LDS really like it.

I own the reg and it's a great one!! It breathes great. The DVT is a plus, but not a reason to buy it. The Dvt is comforting when I drop it into a rinse tank, tho
