Oceanci Alpha 7 second

Hello all! I have a question about tuning of the 2nd stage on Oceanic 's Alpha 7 2nd. When pressurized, when I shake the second stage, it sounds like the lever is too low but when not under pressure, it does not make a sound. In Vance Harlow's book, it says if there is no noise, the lever is probably ok. My question is which way of shaking the 2nd is correct? Pressurized or not under pressure to do this lever height test?
