Am I correct that the dive operation is Pro dive. Any info? I will be staying there but planning on diving with Deep Blue unless somebody talks me out of it.

I thought hmm, hmm, there was just a recent thread about deep Blue...must send this guy a link. But then I saw you started and finished it. http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/cozumel/476818-deep-blue.html

occidental website does indeed say Pro dive.

i did did a search of this forum for pro dive and got quite a few hits. Here is the most recent one. http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/cozumel/476341-dive-boat-sank.html

and here isanother. http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/cozumel/473201-occidental-allegro-jan-12-17-a.html

It does seem that ProDive has replaced Dive Palancar now & from what I saw on my recent trip they have a big staff (my op picked up at the Allegro twice) & I don't know anything (good or bad) about the op you've picked so I'll ask why have you picked them? There are a lot of options in picking an op starting with price & convenience but the least mentioned in on line web sites & most important when doing head to head comparisons is bottom time & safety.

The only reasons why I would use an on-site dive op would be if I got some sort of package deal with the hotel and if I wanted/needed to use their gear rinsing and storage facilities. The latter isn't a concern for me because I use a dive op that valets all my dive gear.

Also, some people like the on-site ops because they often come back to the resort for SIs and because they may offer afternoon dives as well, but I'm happy with wherever my dive op picks to do an SI and I'm usually ready to fiesta or siesta by the time I've had two long morning dives.

[h=2]New Option for Diving in Palancar Beach[/h]
Good morning, scuba board followers, if you are in Cozumel on the south side (like occidental hotel) and you like diving like certified diver or non certified (discover scuba), in Palancar beach now is one option to do it, everyday is one instructor in the beach and one boat ready to take clients to do one or two tank dives, is great service, available always Monday to Sunday and good prices.

you can go directly to the beach and ask for Gustavo or if you like more information or make a reservation in advanced, contact to info@cozumeldivingandparasailing.com

I like diving like certified diver.

Can I parasail and dive at the same time even if I'm not certified parasailer? I would like to don my scuba gear, soar through the air, then while 5 feet above the water, cut the chute and plummet to 100'. I probably will not be carrying my camera. How much will this cost me and is it cheaper in pesos?
