Just read this on the advertiser site. Anyone know what happened? I hope he pulls through..

The news posting mentioned this:

Alex Mason, president and chief executive officer of aaadiving.com said the stricken diver appeared to be between 55 and 60 years old and was part of a Japanese tour group that had chartered his boat.

One of the few boats that has an AED on board. Im sure the skinny will come out soon.
Hope he pulls through.

Wow, I hope he turns out okay. I'd love to know the details.

Alex says he is in critical...

they did everything they could.

We had a discussion Fire department 911 VS Coast Guard. Not that it matters really.

They suspect he had a heart attack.

911, always. The coasties are not set up for rapid response nor are they ALS capable nor can they transport.

well...they arranged the ambulance while he got his divers out of the water.

But, I agree.

There were no delays....12 minutes from the call via channel 16 (Coast Guard)to the dock and that included AED placement, getting divers out of the water and on the boat...impressive really.

Yup, Alex is full of suprises. Im sure Chris had the boat firewalled too.

Any more updates on the diver?

critical, rumors about ceasing life support.

of course, not first hand EEG knowledge.

I was on this boat at the time of the accident. Alex and his staff went above and beyond to provide as much care as possible. This was not a diving accident. I was extremely impressed with the speed and professionalism shown by this crew. Unfortunately, life support was discontinued sometime Thursday night/Friday morning.
