Aloha,

So I moved here from San Diego in 2010 thinking I would be doing more diving than ever...boy was I wrong. I'm in a couple of clubs but they don't actually do as much diving as I expected. So I'm asking if I can tag along with some of you for local diving. I'm mainly looking to learn the ins and outs of shore diving, and perhaps to find a buddy who will be tolerant of my photography interest so I can tell the boat DMs to lay off and let us do our own thing while I take pictures of the same critter for 20 minutes. The whole "pod" diving thing here makes that impossible for me.
I'm rescue certified, lots of shore/boat/cold/night/deep dives, over 600 total dives since I was certified in 2002. Please PM me. -Rob

Hey Rob......

Can join our Facebook Group (link at the bottom). Often times our club guys post when they are heading out shore diving. You are welcome to post on the wall too as we have over 1000 people on there. Some guys that are on Scuba Board that shore dive are:

Lonebrave, DrLector, CaptFlyingDutchman to name a few

All the best!

KD has a good group of shore divers...can't go wrong with his advice. I'm in Cuba right now shore diving here, but if I wasn't I'd say you can tag along with my wife and I some time as well!

For my part, I'll probably be out shore diving one of this weekend's mornings; maybe Sharks Cove, but I'd like to get Halona beach in if the surf cooperates. I'd be happy to meet up with an extra diver, but be aware: if I have the wife with me I'll be cruising around with her and if I don't I'm more of a 'same ocean' type buddy. Which is to say, I have no problem with photographers as long as they have no problem with me being far, far away should something go awry

One thing to know about HI shore diving: there's often a very steep climb down and up unimproved terrain involved, so plan accordingly in the footwear department.

Hi everyone! I'm coming to Oahu for work and I've yet to dive Hawaii! Unfortunately I have no free days, but I do have one night free JULY 10, 2013 where I'll still be able to dive! However, I won't be free until about 7pm and most the boats/dive groups start gearing up about 5pm for night dives (that I've found). Is anyone keen for a night dive? I'll need to hire gear as well. Please PM me as I'll probably forget to check this forum again. Thanks!!
