I was at Nubble this past Saturday and noticed that the slimy algae I fell on last year at this time is back. The rocks have been ok all year up until now. This stuff is extremely slippery. I think it has only appeared in the past couple weeks. It wasn't there last time I dove Nubble in mid-December. One batch is a greenish color and the other is a brownish-red. It is very short and is more of a slime than a seaweed. It extends throughout the entry areas from low tide to about 2/3's of the way to the high tide mark. I would recommend diving be done only 2 hours either side of high tide for the next couple months until it goes away again like it did last year. Someone mentioned last year that it might be a type of cyano-bacteria and not a seaweed at all. Just FYI and a word of caution................Joe
