Has anyone tried NRC D05R sensor for rebreather diving? I found their sensor is slightly cheaper than other Analytical Industrial and Vandagraph. I wonder if it has the same quality with them or not.

Tried it several years ago. By then, was not a good cell, prone to give strange readings , as well as had a short lifespan, six-seven months or so. Being in UK, I would stick to Vandagraph.

I actually bought it from Northern Diver, it is from IT Dr. Gambert GmbH Wismar as I just got confirmation from them. The initial reading is 7.8mv which is quite low, I emailed them about the production date and they said it is September 2022, but the life of the sensor begins when the tin.

This tin can is not a sealed storage package - there's a pin hole under the can key.
So, if production date is September 2022 - you're lucky that cell is not dead, but it can die
shortly.

It looks like old version of O2 - Gas Sensors - itg - IT Dr. Gambert GmbH Wismar
They change colors circa 2012-2014.
Cheaper that common R-22D, but not good, shelf life was around 6 months, and cells are prone to erratic readings and dead cell failures.
I had their o2 analyzer and had more or less the same experience — 6mo and it was dead (reading 6% and nothing more)

I think so, I will probably return the unopened sensor, keep one for experiment
