We're seeing some cool sights on the reefs so if you are coming down to Playa in the near future, keep an eye out for the following:
  • schools of squid (saw one with over 30!) on the shallow northern dive sites(north of the pier by Jardines Reef); current permitting just hang out with them and watch as they change colors
  • Little nudibranchs (2-4mm) on the sand off the reefs, usually black with electric blue & red stripes
  • School(s) of sabalos (tarpon) at the end of Sabalos Reef; used to see them in the summer at Tortugas Reef, but this summer they've chosed to hang out at the reef named for them
  • more pipehorses than usual

To find the pipehorses and nudis, you'll need some patience, but it's definitely worth the effort. Happy diving!

Dove Sabalos in April and just like you said, very nice school if Sanalos right at the end of the dive, it was a great dive all the way around, lots of Barracuda, turtles etc to hang out with
